We caught up with Abbie Ferguson this week, Implementation Specialist at Foods Connected to hear about her proudest moments at Foods Conencted so far, what she's looking forward to in the next year and more!
What attracted you to your chosen career in the Food Industry?
I graduated from a degree in Business Management in 2021 and also studied business for a few years at secondary school so have always had a keen interest in business, specifically supply chains, managing projects and sustainability. Having completed an A-Level in Food Nutrition Science and working in a large supermarket on checkouts and customer service, I find the food industry very interesting. My role at Foods Connected definitely pairs those 2 interests very well. When applying for my job at Foods Connected, the role sounded exciting and varied – which it definitely is. I was eager to get a job where I had a range of tasks to work on so I like that no 2 days are the same and there’s always different projects to work on.
What has been your proudest moment of your time with Foods Connected so Far?
I don’t really have one specific proud moment at Foods Connected but I would say that I’m proud of how my system knowledge has improved since I started. I’m also proud of courses I’ve completed and the projects I’ve worked on throughout my time at the company.
What is something not many people would guess about you?
I really enjoy baking, especially cakes, cheesecake and brownies. I enjoy taking my dog for walks and I also like to go on spa breaks when I can.
What advice would you give those looking to kick start a career at Foods Connected?
Go for it! The team you would be working with are fantastic, everyone is so supportive and friendly. The work is very interesting and there’s so many opportunities within the company. Definitely reach out to the team to find out more if you have any questions.
What are you most looking forward to in 2023?
I’m looking forward to seeing how the company grows and the system develops. I’m also looking forward to the different projects I’ll be working on this year. The team are planning some exciting team days and events too so I’m definitely looking forward to those.
