We caught up with Jessica Schoonderwaldt, one of our fantastic Implementation Managers for our Australian team this week, to hear what attracted her to a career in the food industry , what achievements she is most proud of and what she's most looking forward to over the next year with Foods Connected!
1. What attracted you to a career in the food tech?
I had always wanted a career within the Livestock industry. During my final years of university, I developed a strong interest in the red meat industry and was able to secure a graduate job with Foods Connected working with one of the largest red meat retailers in Australia. My role as implementation manager has provided opportunities to work with customers that have developed my industry and system knowledge and working with such a supportive team has been great.
2. What has been the proudest moment (or most accomplished moment!) of your time with Foods Connected so far?
Probably seeing our team in Australia grow to where it is today and helping to deliver key projects for the business.
3. Tell us something not many people would guess about you
Not many people know that in my spare time I love diving and spear fishing. On the weekends you will find me either walking my two sausage dogs (Frankie and Bowie) on the beach or in the ocean diving or fishing.
4. What advice would you give those looking to kick start a career at Foods Connected?
For those looking for a career at Foods Connected I would suggest researching the job positions and areas that you are interested in. Foods Connected works across many different supply chains and therefore many opportunities depending on the areas you are interested in.
5. What are you most looking forward to in the next year?
With the Foods Connected team in Australia expanding I am really looking forward to working with new customers and returning to the office to have more face-to-face interactions with colleagues and new starters. We have such a strong and supportive team and really looking forward to seeing the business grow and more customers benefitting from our software.
