We caught up with Sarah Bradley, Head of Business at Foods Connected to hear what attracted her to a career in Food Tech, her proudest moment at Foods Connected and her advice for future recruits!
1. What attracted you to a career in the food tech?
I have been working with the Agri Foods Industry for the past 9 Years coming from an agricultural background I have always had a passion for the Northern Ireland Agri Food Sector, in particular the Meat Industry. I Graduated in 2013 which led to me securing a graduate role with one of Northern Ireland's Meat Manufacturers and processors. I had previously used the Foods Connected Software and could see how it delivered useful data capture solutions for customers, which inspired me and naturally led me down the food tech path.
2. What has been the proudest moment (or most accomplished moment!) of your time with Foods Connected so far?
I am proud of how the company has grown over the past 2 years since I have been working here. I suppose being nominated and short listed for Meat Business women award has been my best achievement yet.
3. Tell us something not many people would guess about you?
Outside of work you will find me most weekends and evenings on the farm helping my husband. I love farming life and enjoy helping when I can with Lambing and Calving season being one of my favorite times of year.
4. What advice would you give those looking to kick start a career at Foods Connected?
Don’t hold back! Reach out to the Foods Connected team and get some insight about the company, the different departments, and roles that they have to offer. Foods Connected work across multiple supply chains so don’t feel that ‘Food Industry’ experience is essential be an eligible candidate for roles. The Company is extremely supportive with mentoring and upskilling opportunities.
5. What are you most looking forward to in the next year?
I am looking forward to seeing the company grow as we explore new opportunities as a business. The Software is continuously evolving with lot of new exciting projects underway which deliver a significant change to the platform and our customers.
